The 2016 NUCA North Texas 3rd annual PORKaPULLuza Clay Shoot at the Dallas Gun Club was a great combination of marksmanship, comradery, and feasting on BBQ and beer. Big thanks to our Events Committee: Kelli Meyer (Vermeer), Chad Pendley (US Shoring), Chris Dunn (UPT), Adam Syswerda (Box Insurance), Jill McKean (Frost), Marie Rhom (Buyers Barricades), Kris Phillip (Kirby-Smith), and Matt Chapman (Romco).
We had great volunteers that kept things rolling smoothly all day: keeping up with registration, raffle sales, station pull/scores, and clean up. Once everyone registered they were given their NUCA bags with fishing shirts, PPE, door prize tickets, and shells. Shortly after, safety regulations were explained and shooters grabbed their shotguns and ammo and set off to the 12 stations. Before returning back to the pavilion, shooters had the option to compete at the Flurry sponsored by Buyers Barricades. Back at the pavilion, everyone chowed down on real Texas BBQ sponsored by Barbco and prepared by head chef Chad Pendley. Then scores were tallied, the last of the raffle tickets were sold, and trophies were awarded. After the awards, the day was finished off with the drawings of the door and raffle prizes.
